The thicker mats were perfect, they stayed put and offered a little extra cushion. They were a little bulky to carry around so these are perfect for that minimalist person. They don't stay still as good as the thicker ones, I've had a few instructors test it out and they like it. I was going to buy more but see that they are ALL out of stock
